Timothy Poore
Chief Executive Officer
Tim brings more than 17 years of healthcare leadership experience to HealthSouth East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital. His experience includes involvement in inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and outpatient treatment programs including surgery and diagnostic centers, occupational health clinics and long-term acute care hospitals. Tim uses his background and experience to set high standards for patient care. Tim holds a bachelor’s of science degree from SUNY Brockport in New York. He has been actively involved with the American Heart Association.

Ernie Taveira, RN, CRRN
Chief Nursing Officer
Ernie has been with the HealthSouth Corporation since 1991. Prior to becoming the CNO for East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, she was the CNO for HealthSouth Scottsdale Rehabilitation Hospital. She obtained her CRRN certification in 1995. A graduate from Asheville-Buncombe College with an associate degree in nursing, she comes with a strong clinical and management background. Leadership and loyalty has always been her motivation in providing optimum patient care and positive outcomes for our patients.

J Carvel Jackson, MD
Medical Director
Dr. J Carvel Jackson is a graduate of College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. He completed residency training at Stanford University and is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Jackson’s roots in Mesa, Ariz. date back to 1958. He is the founder of Rehab Arizona and maintains a private practice. Dr. Jackson’s special interests include spasticity management, electrodiagnosis and pain management.

Kathy Lovato PT,DPT,ATC
Director Of Therapy Operations
Lovato has been practicing in the field of physical therapy for 16 years. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in physical education with an extra interest in sports medicine, she elected to follow a career in physical therapy. She began her career as a physical therapist assistant in 1994 then furthered her education to physical therapist. Lovato graduated with a master’s degree in physical therapy from Loma Linda University in Southern California in 2000, then acheived her doctorate in physical therapy from A.T. Still university in 2008. Lovato's entire career has been in the adult inpatient and rehabilitation setting. She is a member of the Phoenix Physical Therapy Directors group and American Physical Therapy Association.

Josh Bowie , CPA
Controller
Bowie brings more than 10 years of financial accounting experience to HealthSouth East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital. He has worked as a Certified Public Accountant for Arthur Andersen and as a Manager of internal audit for a public insurance company as well as a controller for a large private company. Bowie received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Arizona, and as a Arizonia native he is extremely active in the community currently serving as a member of the Scottsdale 20/30 children’s charity.

Nancy Pickler, SPHR
Director of Human Resources
Nancy is an experienced human resources generalist who holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. She has more than 25 years of experience in health care human resources. She joined the East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital in July of 2009, prior to the hospital’s grand opening in August. She oversees employee relations, compensation, benefits, recruiting and retention, performance management and workmen’s compensation. Her goal is to make a difference for the employees, for hospital and the community.

Al Hetheriton
Director of Plant Operations
Al has nearly 25 years experience in maintenance and construction management. He has spent 14 of those years working in a healthcare environment. He is a certified facility maintenance engineer through Waubonsee College in Chicago. He has also taken business and management accreditation training at Hannibal-Lagrange College, Hannibal, MD. Al oversees the maintenance, environmental services, and bio-medical department at HealthSouth East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital. He is also the safety/security officer for the hospital.
